What Our Customers Say
I've been using Firehouse for catering pizza at work events for a while now and they are consistently fantastic. Molly and Pat are very friendly, responsive, and easy to work with, and their delivery drivers are communicative and nice. I only get the leftovers, so can't say too much about the taste (the pizza holds up well cold!), but the salad always looks fresh and the pizza smells delicious. They're more expensive than large pizza chains, of course, but well worth the money - supporting local, talking to knowledgeable staff, and the quality of the ingredients. Plus, they have more vegetarian pizza options on their menu than other places. They are very much well within the affordable price of catering and I have recommended them to colleagues in other NU departments. I've never attended an event at Firehouse but have been told the ambiance/atmosphere is a hit, and I absolutely believe it!
If I lived in Evanston, I’d be here every week. The charm of the restored firehouse is clear both outside and inside, and the happy sounds of people eating, drinking, and having fun greeted us as soon as we entered. The 14 beers on tap had a wide variety, including my faves — stouts, hazy IPA, and Belgian white. I got Son of Juice, the Maplewood hazy. Yum. There’s also wine and a full bar.All in all, we loved Firehouse!
These jerk chicken tacos seriously exceeded expectations! The flour tortillas were spot-on—soft, but held everything together like a pro (no messy taco collapse here). The chicken strips were grilled just right with this amazing little crisp on the edges, and that jerk sauce? Spicy, flavorful, and totally addictive. I loved the fresh cabbage crunch and the pineapple pico de gallo was such a good call—bright and sweet in the best way. I was expecting little 3-inch tacos but these were full-sized, generous, and super fresh. And let’s talk about the cilantro lime rice—so many places just throw some herbs on regular rice, but this one was actually good. You could taste the lime, the cilantro—it just worked. Honestly, I was a little nervous about the new menu, but this was a win all around. Fresh, bold, balanced… and now I want it again.
